Americans have had a love affair with their vehicles since the first affordable American car, Ford Model T, rolled off the assembly line in 1927. Transport yourself to your youth or for the younger generation get a glimpse into our country's automotive history when the muscle car ruled the street and an occasional drag race. Take a stroll down memory lane at the N.C. 4th of July Festival car show presented by the Cape Fear Cruisers.
It's called "Shine & Show" and; it's just that. We do not judge or hand out trophies; but we do have a great time. The Shine and Show is located on the Cape Fear River in front of historic Fort Johnston in downtown Southport, N. C. It's a beautiful view with wonderful oak trees for shade and a nice breeze from the water. Our cars are viewed by thousands of people. So SHINE up your baby and SHOW it with us on July 4th.
No registration is required for this event. Non-club members and members are invited to showcase their classic cars on the holiday. Those who want to participate should gather at the Duke Entergy parking lot on Hwy 133 beginning at 9:00a.m. A police escort will lead the Cruisers from the parking lot to Bay Street at approximately 10:00a.m. If you have questions about showcasing your classic car, please call Dave Lippincott (910) 253-9913.
